A holiday firm specialising in serving the needs of those who like to spend their breaks wearing walking boots
has made a donation towards the upkeep of footpaths in Glencoe.
HF Holidays has given £4,300 to the National Trust for Scotland (NTS) to help maintain routes on land it owns in the valley, Grough reports.
NTS property manager Scott McCombie commented: "Ongoing path maintenance is vital in protecting the delicate mountain environment for which Glencoe is famous."
Co-operative firm HF Holidays runs trips in the Glencoe area from the Alltshellach country house in North Ballachulish, which it has owned since 1929.
Visitors to Glencoe can also stay in places like the youth hostel or the nearby Clachaig Inn.
These are situated below the steep slopes of Sgorr nam Fiannaidh, one of two Munros linked by the famously exposed and challenging Aonach Eagach ridge, the other being Meall Dearg.
Other Munros in the valley include Bidean nam Bian and Stob Dearg on Buachaille Etive Mor.
