An organisation aimed at encouraging gay and bisexual men to get out into the countryside more is staging a range of events over the Christmas and new year period.
Outdoor Lads has a stated aim of getting members of the community away from bars and clubs and into walking boots
and climbing gear
with four weekends in locations in England and Scotland, Grough reports.
The organisation's office manager Chris Knight said: "This is a great opportunity to do something healthy and get out more with other gay and bi blokes in some of the most beautiful parts of our country."
He noted joining Outdoor Lads - which was formed in 2006 - costs less for a year than one month's gym membership, although the upcoming events are open to non-members.
The organisation was featured last year in an article in Trail Magazine, when a group of its members from Manchester climbed Skiddaw in the Lake District.
