The new GO Activities Website backed by Go Outdoors is to offer 20,000 opportunities for lovers of adventure to enjoy events and activities.
It is being launched with a huge database of things to do and take part in, alongside information, advice and accommodation guides.
The site has free sign up listings and has already joined forces with the likes of LateRooms.com, The Activity People, Camping
Ninja and Visit England, as well as numerous local activity providers, to offer a vast array of places to stay and things to do.
Describing the portal as "unique", GO Activities project leader Mike Griffin said: "We hope people of all abilities who enjoy the outdoors will not only book their favourites but be inspired to discover new activities online with us too. It's a mine of information."
Choosing the UK as a place to enjoy outdoor activities is something an increasing number appear to be doing as growing numbers of Britons decide to holiday in the UK instead of overseas.
A study by holiday homes letting agency cottages4you found 91 per cent of people intend to have a 'staycation' next year, with Cornwall and the Lake District being the most popular destinations.
