The Glencoe ski resort is to host a mountain biking event as attention switches away from winter sports with the snow dwindling.
Over this coming weekend (May 15th and 16th) the location at the White Corries will host a round of the Scottish Downhill Association (SDA) championships, with skis replaced by bikes and tickets still available for spectators.
Those keen on donning their cycling clothing
and taking up mountain biking themselves may be interested by the development of such facilities at the resort, which mimics those created elsewhere, such as at the nearby Nevis Range.
The SDA championships include a round at the Nevis Range in September.
Chairlifts that take skiers up the flanks of Meall a' Bhuiridh in the winter can do the same for those on two wheels in summer, with attachments to fix bikes to the lifts.
As a 3,615 ft high mountain, Meall a' Bhuridh is an attraction for walkers attempting the Munros as well, who may climb it along with its 3,609 ft neighbour Creise.
