Glencoe has announced that its ski school will open on Saturday December 17th, one day after the mountain's ski hire service and lifts start running.
In an emailed update, the Scottish resort said the access chair, wall T-bar and main basin T-bar lifts should be operating from early Friday morning for those putting on their ski clothes
for the first time this year.
The resort has been closed this week for repairs after storm damage was sustained last weekend.
Conditions on the mountain were described as "exceptional for this time of year", with between 24 and 36 inches of fresh snow falling on the slopes during a storm on Tuesday.
The resort said all of its main runs should be open to skiers this weekend, with the exception of the Fly Paper run. This will remain off limits due to a high avalanche risk.
Another skiing centre due to open for business this weekend is the Nevis Range, which has said it plans to run its linnhe, alpha and goose T-bar lifts from Saturday.
