Glencoe Mountain Resort is less than a week away from an event that may excite those who love to jump on mountain bikes
and hurtle down steep hills at speed.
The MacAvalanche event will see 120 of the leading bikers in the country being dropped on the slopes of Meall a' Bhuiridh, from where they will hurtle downhill across the remnants of the winter snows that provide skiing at the site in the colder months.
Starting at 15:00 on April 20th, they will carry on all the way to the bottom of the mountain in a race that may attract large crowds of fans.
The event may also highlight the possibilities for those in cycling gear to enjoy fun in the saddle at the resort.
And Glencoe is not the only resort in Lochaber that replaces skiing with mountain biking every summer.
Visitors to the Nevis Range near Fort William can enjoy a world championship course, with bikes and riders carried halfway up Aonach Mor to the start of the descent via the Gondola cable car system.
