Management at Scotland's Glencoe ski resort have made an application for European funding to obtain a piste machine.
In an email to wintersports fans, it revealed plans are afoot to acquire a Kassbohrer PB 400, which would mean having two such machines available to "groom" the mountain and thus create better conditions for those coming along with their skiwear.
However, even if funding is forthcoming, more cash will be required within the next six weeks and the resort is appealing for corporate sponsorship to plug this gap.
Alternatively, individual sponsorship or a major fundraising effort may help, with this last option potentially helping the application for European funding, as the last one failed due to a perceived lack of community involvement.
One ski resort in Scotland where there is always plenty going on is the Nevis Range near Fort William.
Upcoming events include the Fort William Mountain Festival
, running from February 15th-19th.
