The Glencoe ski resort has revealed it is offering plenty of snow and good skiing conditions at present, which may prompt some to don their skiwear
and head there.
Early season weather had been unkind to the venue as the heavy snow seen elsewhere in the Highlands had largely missed it, but with more recent falls the latest report from the centre has noted there is lots of white stuff and the majority of lifts and tows are open.
It stated: "All Open slopes have an excellent cover of soft snow on a firm base offering excellent sport across the mountain. Lower slopes are all complete with nice soft snow."
However, the Cliffhanger chair lift has been closed for safety reasons due to high winds.
One venue where there is no towing just now is the Lake District ski club on Raise, where an email to supporters has revealed the gearbox on the tow has seized up and will need replacing before it can take people back up the mountain.
