A successful walking festival
that was held at the beginning of 2012 is to return in 2013, organisers have said.
Get Doncaster Walking will present a variety of rambling routes for those who like to get out into the great outdoors, with the first set to take place on January 6th.
This will start from Sandall Beat Wood at 10:30 GMTand is classed as a 'stroller' walk of four-and-a-half miles in length.
There will also be plenty of other options, from a town heritage walk to a ramble around Potteric Carr nature reserve.
"We recorded more than 2,000 attendances during this year's festival
and we hope to get even more people involved next year," said Doncaster Council cabinet member for communities Cynthia Ransome.
Those keen to go walking
as part of the festival
can pick up a leaflet from public places in Doncaster, or download one from the council's website.
Recent research from PruHealth found that 27 per cent of Britons walk to improve their health and fitness.
