Those who like to go walking
and would prefer to do so with a soulmate may just find them at the Isle of Wight Walking Festival
Running from October 26th to 29th, the event includes a speed dating walk around Sandown Bay, which may help some to meet the person they will spend the rest of their life hiking round the countryside with.
Organisers noted that four weddings have occurred as a consequence of meetings during past editions of the walk, with the most recent happening in May this year.
has some other themed walks as well, including a fossil hunting tour around the coast, which will feature dinosaur footprints and ossified tree stumps.
People may be able to leave more footprints of their own around the island in the years to come, as the government launched a consultation during the summer over the possibility of the island being included in the English Coastal Path, despite being disconnected from the mainland.
The final date for contributions is November 16th.
