The Dartmoor National Park has published a guide to the 2010 summer season, providing information for those who want to go walking
, ride mountain bikes
or stay in tents
Included in the guide is a listing of events taking place, including a number of guided walks that take place through the area.
The park's visitor centres will be opening for the summer on April 1st, providing a further reference point for walkers, bikers, campers and others enjoying the great outdoors, with the High Moorland Visitor Centre tipped as a great place to start a visit to the park.
Walks planned for April include a trek round the Roman ruins on Shapley Common, a moorland walk at Two Bridges, a moorland walk around Meldon Reservoir and a high moor walk near Okehampton.
The latter area contains the only land in the south of England over 2,000 ft on the ridge including the summits of High Willhays and Yes Tor.
