The Sheffield Cliffhanger Festival
on July 2nd and 3rd will be the biggest event the outdoors community can enjoy this year, organisers have claimed.
People who love heading for the cliffs with their climbing gear may be among those wanting to enjoy the weekend, which Festival
director Matt Heason told the British Mountaineering Club website was attended by over 20,000 last year.
He remarked: "Cliffhanger's renowned for playing host to some of the world's very best climbers with the penultimate round of the Bouldering World Cup."
As well as the IFSC Bouldering World Cup, the weekend will feature workshops on how to use climbing ropes better and a chance to try out some climbing walls.
But Cliffhanger is not just about ropes and harnesses.
The event's website includes a link to a Twitter page, on which the latest announcement is that the festival
will feature the first Ultrasprint orienteering competition in the UK, involving multiple terrain challenges, several river crossings and requiring complex map reading tests.
