Those setting off for their holidays can enjoy some "glamorous" caravanning
, it has been suggested.
Editor of Caravan Times Marcos Dubois said that while problems with overseas travel like collapsing tour firms and airline strikes have made overseas travel less attractive, staying at home in caravans is not a "fall-back" option, but one that is popular in its own right.
He stated: "Caravan parks and sites around the country have upgraded their offerings and it's now considered fashionable to take a caravan break."
Those thinking of such a trip may wish to drop into their nearest Go Outdoors store to get some caravanning furniture
Examples of caravan parks that have been improved in recent years include Skelwith Fold in the Lake District.
According to the park's website, since it was bought by the Wild Family 11 years ago it has had its previously neglected landscape restored.
This includes the dredging of Slew Tarn, a semi-artificial tarn in the grounds of the park that had been silting up.
