A calendar has gone on sale depicting photographs of some of Britain's finest scenery - in aid of the people who help to make such places safer.
The 2010 Mountain Rescue Calendar has been launched with a series of scenes from the upland areas of England and Wales, with proceeds going to the various teams of volunteers assisting people who get into trouble on the hills.
Each month features pictures taken by amateur snappers participating in a competition run by Goodyear, which sponsors Mountain Rescue.
Those buying or receiving the calendars for Christmas may be inspired by the beauty of the scenery to purchase Ordnance Survey Maps
of the featured areas and go walking
For people doing so over the next few months, investing in men's winter jackets
or women's winter jackets
could to avoid the services of the rescue teams being needed, as good walking equipment
will aid people stay safe and warm on the hills.
According to Mountain Rescue's own figures, its teams in England and Wales include 3,500 volunteers.
