Bothy back in use after roof repairs

Those who like to go walking or ride mountain bikes around the Scottish Highlands may be delighted to learn that the Culra Bothy is back in full action.

The number of people who could stay there over the Christmas and new year period was restricted after storm damage to the roof meant one of the rooms was exposed to the elements.

However, the Mountain Bothies Association (MBA) has confirmed that work has now been completed to repair the roof and the building is now fully available to stay in.

The bothy is located on the Ben Alder estate and may be used by walkers and climbers looking to scale to 3,766 ft Munro of that name.

MBA bothies are not just located in Scotland and the organisation has also reported that the Penhros Isaf hostel in Wales has had its blocked chimney problem resolved, which will be great news for anyone staying there during this week's cold snap who wants to light a fire.ADNFCR-2803-ID-801279579-ADNFCR
