More snow is on the way for Britain this week, with the Scottish highlands set to see further flurries.

According to the Met Office, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday will see fresh snowfall in the east highlands, while this week will also see severe fog and high winds.

Similar conditions have also been forecast in the west highlands.

Those who are looking to go walking may be well advised to wear good men's outdoor clothing or women's outdoor clothing to protect against the conditions.

Fresh snow may be good news for those keen to don their ski boots in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, all five of Scotland's ski resorts are expected to be open today.

There is also forecast to be more snow in Cumbria this week and the Lake District Ski Club's tow will be in operation today, meaning that those who want to ski in England can do so as well.
