A good bed and breakfast establishment is one with the "personal touch", an award-winner has said.
Many people who like to go walking
will stay in such accomodation in the country and walkers in Cornwall might go to Pentillie Castle in St Mellion, which has picked up the gold award for the best bed and breakfast accommodation in the South West Tourism Excellence Awards 2012.
A spokesperson for the establishment explained how they help people feel at home, stating: "Our staff are all encouraged to treat guests very personably rather than as clients."
She noted people are also given a map of the grounds and encouraged to explore them.
Walkers may look for such qualities in B&Bs wherever they go walking
around the country.
One of Cornwall's biggest attractions is its seaside scenery, which can be enjoyed on foot as it makes up over 250 miles of the 630-mile South West Coastal Path.
