Features
With Therm-a-Rest, there's no need to sacrifice your luxury for a lighter load.
The Therm-a-Rest® NeoAir mattress uses state-of-the-art design and engineering, to give a comfortable night's sleep to any camper or backpacker needing to keep their gear weight low.
The NeoAir is one of the lightest air mattresses available, considerably warmer and far more stable than other uninsulated air mattresses, and will pack down to around the same size as a one-litre water bottle.
Ultralight & Compact: Weighs just 9oz, and packs down to the size of a water bottle.
Warm and insulating: Therm-a-Rest's unique reflective barrier returns warmth to your body and reduces heat loss to the ground, keeping you three times warmer than other uninsulated sleeping mats.
Solid and stable: When inflated, the NeoAir's Triangular Core Matrix technology creates an internal truss system that gives you a stable, firm but comfortable cushion.
Robust and durable: The NeoAir mattress can be inflated and adjusted directly without you needing the added weight or bulk of a pump, or worrying about exhaled moisture wetting insulation and decreasing performance.

NeoAir sleeping mats are compact enough to fit in even the smallest packs, and can double up as cushioning for your travel pack: they can be partially inflated, folded and used as a comfortable frame along your back. All the Therm-a-Rest self-inflating Fast & Light® mattresses can also be folded in half and then rolled, allowing them to fit more easily inside a pack.
The best way to inflate the NeoAir™ mattress is to unroll it, and open the valve, blow air into the first section of the mattress, then close the valve. Push the air from the inflated section into the bottom, non-inflated section of the mattress with the valve still closed. Open the valve and continue inflation. A regular length mattress will take around 20 strong breaths to inflate fully. Once inflated, you can adjust the firmness while you're lying on the mat, using the valve near your head, just by reaching up and opening it slightly until you get to your ideal level of support.
*The 'R-Value' is a measurement of a material's resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-Value, the more effective the insulation provided.

Light and comfy, 08 April 2011
By Funkysi (Hill Head)
Feels flimsy ... really light and ... flimsy.
With apprehension I unravelled my exciting new toy with its unfamiliar feel. I kept reminding myself that I could blow it up, it was really light so great for hiking with and that even if it wasn't comfy I was a hard-core mountain man and this mat was all about the weight and the reflective heat lining to keep me so-much-warmer!
So what a lovely feeling to wake up feeling good. Feeling good, I set off for the day knowing that my new NeoAir (168cm for my 182cm body) was just right, comfy, crazily light and stupidly small (the size of a Sigg bottle at most).
If you're serious about lightweight comfort buy this mat and treat it well. It's tough enough for normal use but it's not a trampoline and won't like being put straight onto stoney ground.
