An award winning hot burning stove that's tough, stable and versatile.

The MSR Dragonfly Gourmet Camping Stove is a fast paced, hot burning stove that has won numerous awards during it's 10+ years on the stove market.
Built tough to give precision performance using a variety of fuels, it has an innovative dual-valve design that gives you the precision flame control you need for evenly heating large pots (up to 9" maximum diameter), or melting snow or brewing up fast.

  • CoolFuel Valve: First ever dual-valve design offers an unrivalled range of flame control
  • Extra Wide Pot Supports: Three wide pot supports hold larger MSR pots or fry pans for gourmet cooking
  • Multi-Fuel: Burns white gas, kerosene, unleaded auto fuel, diesel, and jet fuel
  • Compact: Folds to 1/3 of its working size for easy storage
  • Remote Burner: Pioneered by MSR, the separate fuel bottle and pump keep the flame away from the fuel, which allows the use of a windscreen to make the stove burn hotter and more efficiently.
  • Self-Cleaning Shaker Jet: Clean out jet debris for high performance with a flick of the wrist
  • Suspended Burner Cup: The suspended burner cup enables the stove to burn hot and strong while reducing heat lost to the ground
  • Minimum Weight: 14oz/395g
  • Packed Weight: 1lb 2oz/510g
  • Burn time per 600ml/20oz. of fuel: 126-153 mins (depending on fuel type)
  • Boil time, 1 litre: 3.5 - 3.9 mins (depending on fuel type)
  • Water boiled per 100 ml of fuel: 5.3 - 5.7 litres (depending on fuel type)
  • Water boiled per 1oz. of fuel: 1.6 - 1.7 litres (depending on fuel type)

Fuel on hands solution, 09 June 2015
By Lee (UK)
To avoid getting fuel on your hands, before turning fuel tap off, flip the bottle over so it faces the other way.
What happens is that the fuel pick up on the pump comes out of the fuel and once the stove has used the fuel in the fuel line, the air gets pushed out through the stove and de-pressurises the fuel bottle and thus preventing the "fuel on hands" problem.

Excellent Stove, 03 March 2012
By Vossy1 (Manchester)
I've been using this stove for six years, on average 3 days a week, sometimes 7 days a week for fishing/camping trips. Plus points, the power of this stove is amazing, it's truly small, ultra reliable and has yet to let me down. Minor niggles, smell of petrol on hands when putting away, mine is so powerful it has burnt holes in the heat shield supplied. The leak of petrol from the stove when putting away as reviewed by someone shouldn't actually happen if you operate the stove correctly, ie, shut the petrol valve (not the stoves) and allow the flame to burn out the fuel from the fuel line. The stove is also quite noisy but that's no surprise with that sort of burning power. The priming sequence to pre heat the vapourisor prior to use emits a yellow flame which can be a nuisance when camping/fishing.
Overall if you are happy to use a petrol stove and the quirks that come with them this stove is unbeatable, absolutely rock solid.

MSR DRAGONFLY, 23 December 2010
By Cooksie (Cumbria)
Used this fishing before the snow came and wanted to review. Couldnt believe how much heat this produced at such speed.

Other reviewer mentioned the noise. Very true, it is a bit of a lous one, but for the power- i cant complain.

MSR dragonfly, 08 June 2010
By kenny (N.Ireland)
I have had one of these for 8 years and use it once a month on fishing/camping trips.
I first got it as part of my motorcycle touring equipment. The thought of using petrol as fuel was handy on the bike as the fuel cell would also act as emergency bike fuel.(with 110 mile range on a bike this was a good idea).
I use it all the time now and has never needed any new parts. I have oiled the leather pump plunger twice. It comes with the gel.
it works with petrol parafin or anything that burns.
It will boil a pot of water quicker than 99% of kitchen cooker. . When this thing is on a full burn, its ultra hot.
Taking it apart when putting it away always leaves your hands smelly with fuel as it leaks out of the pipe when disconnected . It no harm keeping a rag in its little bag.
One thing I would like to point out also is the noise of it. Its very noisy . I found this to be a problem on campsites when other campers around you are sleeping at night. I like a late night beverage before sleep . If turned up you have to raise you voice to talk over the noise.

Overall . I would certainly buy another if this one broke down. But it never will. Its a quality bit of camping gear which is reflected in the price.
