Info
The Mountain Equipment Shroud Jacket is ideal for anyone looking for the softness of a fleece with the tougher edge of a jacket for a variety of active sports needs.
This active lightweight fleece combines Polartec 100 Microfleece - lightweight, warm, and quick to dry with Polartech Powerstretch which offeres exceptional breathability as well as stretch to complement active use.
This allows the jacket to sit close to the body thanks to the Apline style cut, providing the perfect 'don't think, just do it' outdoor garment.
The hood adds a perfect addition to the fleece base, and it has enough flexibility to fit under, or over a helmet. Hoods are not a common feature on micro fleeces which emphasises the technical nature and variety of uses for this jacket.
As with the traditional fleece, comfort and warmth is of paramount importance. 2 hand wamer pockets can be accessed even when you are wearing a harness of carrying a rucksack- perfect when the temperature plummets but stopping just isn't an option.
Lycra bound cuffs, adjustable hems and intergrated thumb loops add to this comfort and ease- allowing full control at all times.
At just 380g the Shroud is an excellent space saver and ideal for those days when you just want to go.

Subaru Fleece rather a Limo, 26 November 2011

This is a very functional fleece, but it looks a bit wrong when worn as a casual garment, function over form. It's warm, light and close fitting. Great for layering, the pockets are big but they lay flat when not in use. You can get another fleece on top easy, or where it under a down. It is a good breather which is go for me because I sweat. The thumb loops stop the sleeves riding up your arms and gives some warmth to the hands, maybe one step down from fingerless gloves. The hood is very handy for regulating your temperature and saves on hat hassle. The hood does not have a draw cord, which made it feel a bit looser than I expected, but that also means that it's not restrictive, which suits the active design. The hood stretch fabric does help to cloak your bonse, rather flapping around, for when you want to make like a Jedi.
I rate Mountain Equipment go for it.
Super, Smashing, Great!!!

Lightweight warm garment, that i can only see being kept in the rucksack to put over a tee in case weather turns nippy\windy.
But i find the thump holes annoying and pointless

this is a super bit of kit it has four way streach fleece that gives you great freedom of movement, and has intergrated thumb loops that stop the sleaves riding up the arm and keep your hands a bit warmer. The hood can fit under a helmet and is also great at keeping you warm , it has an active cut but isnt to restrictive and is very breathable. I love my fleece and it is of the quality you expect from mountain equipment.
