The
Mountain Equipment Morpheus jacket is designed as a
lightweight, highly technical mountain, walking and climbing jacket.
The simple construction and hard wearing, but light
3-layer GORE-TEX Pro-Shell Ascendor II fabric makes it very functional and comfortable for a variety of conditions.
The jacket's Active cut gives you exceptional freedom of movement, helped by the award-winning
wired 'Stealth' constructed hood, which moves with the head whether a helmet is being worn or not, providing total protection from the elements.
Features like the
bonded fleece chinguard, rubber cuff grabs, concealed hem and waist drawcords and one-pull hood adjusters ensure that the jacket fits you perfectly.
Two large pockets can be used while a rucksack or harness is being worn. The pocket (and map pocket) zips are water resistant, and the front zip has a full storm flap, while a
fully taped pocket bag allows access to stored items without opening up the jacket.

The best coat I've ever had. Took it trekking in the Cairn gorms and never let me down in any weather, rain, snow, wind. It is also very very light so you wouldn't know it was in your pack.

Mountain Equipment have done all the hard work for you and made probably the best lightweight waterproof on the market today. I was looking around for a replacement for my old waterproof and bought a TNF All Terrain goretex jacket in Nov 09. Whilst it performed ok out on the hill through last winters blizzards it was lacking in good practical design. After six months it had a fault so took it back to GO Outdoors and replaced it with the ME Morpheus. To say it is in a different league is doing it an injustice. I think you would struggle to buy a better waterproof at any price than an ME one. They always have been at the top of their game and this jacket sets the standard for all others to beat. There is only one choice to make when you buy your next hardshell and that's which colour ME jacket do I buy.

Amazing jacket, very light and packs down easily so doesn't take up much room in your pack.
Kept me dry in downpours and it's breathabilty is excellent... has also kept me warm over the winter with a good layering system underneath.
The external pockets are very convenient; they are in a good location, so don't get trapped under waist belts and are big enough to stow a map away if need be.
Overall, it serves it's purpose brilliantly, fully waterproof, windproof, it's light enough for the summer months but can keeps me warm when needed. Very good jacket, I believe mountain equipment are definately one of the top brands for outdoor clothing and they have not yet let me down...
