The
Montane Prism Jacket is
extremely light and offers maximum warmth with minimum weight. Made from
Pertex Microlight Rip-stop fabric, it's water repellent, windproof and breathable.
Using
Primaloft Eco 40g insulation the body will be kept warm from the elements and as it is ultra light it is hassle free to store away in warmer conditions.
The reversed full front zip allows the body to be fully ventilated when it is warm and provides protection when it is cold.
The adjustable draw-cord hem and elasticated cuffs ensure a close fit to the body but give freedom of movement.
2 double insulated chest pockets and insulated hood with non-whip face aperture draw-cords keep the head and hands as protected as the body, and in dark conditions the 3M Scotchlite reflective flashes allow for visibility.
This highly breathable and insulated jacket is ideal for the active man who enjoys cold outdoor activities.

Excellent lightweight jacket, 09 August 2011

I bought this jacket for travelling and trekking in the Bolivian Andes. It's great to use as a lightweight multi-purpose jacket, and I've found it to be both wind and water resistant. I used it recently - as an outer layer or underneath a waterproof - on a trek over 4500m. Temperatures during the night were below -10 and a balmy zero degrees in the day. In such conditions the jacket wasn't sufficient to keep me toasty at night, even when used with 3 other layers. However, in less demanding conditions the jacket has performed admirably, is exceptionally well made and fits me like a glove. It's a great jacket to take travelling due to it's versatility and lightweight, and unless you're a hardened mountaineer it would make an excellent purchase.

Bought this jacket, in Steel colourway as a Christmas 'Deal of the Day' online, and could not be happier with it so far. The styling of the jacket looks casual enough for wear around town in all but already warm weather, with people seeming surprised when finding out it is even insulated and really an outdoor jacket.
Given the Prism uses Primaloft Eco that is very thin, it offers amazing warmth, to the point where just draping it over my legs produced a significant increase in how warm they were within barely a couple of minutes, and so far i have found its windproof abilities to be excellent. So far I haven't needed anything more than a regular t-shirt/dedicated base layer underneath it, and while it remains dry out, I doubt I will need anything on top of the jacket either.
If the weather does continue to get colder, as it is forecast to, then this jacket will continue to be an essential addition to my outdoor and casual wardrobe.

Bought this jacket just before the "freeze". Fantastically light and packs away to nothing in your rucksac.
