A versatile and totally protective shell for alpine stop/start climbs, that lets you focus on the task in hand - not the weather.
'Alpine style’ stop/start climbs can be the purest form of mountaineering,
and for that you need a jacket that can breathe hard yet continue to give microclimate protection on cold belays.
Awarded ""BEST IN TEST"" by Trek & Mountain magazine and
Trail Magazine's ""5 Star Award"", Montane's Alpine Endurance eVent® Jacket
is very breathable, waterproof, and durable, with a clever and comprehensive
pocket configuration. It's technically constructed, using the most water-
resistant YKK zips available and has been tailored to allow for dynamic body movement without too much bulk for winter layering.
Developed for use on Alpine ascents and Scottish winter climbs, it can handle the most extreme mountain conditions, so you can concentrate on what you're doing, not what the weather's threatening.

As a climber I have worn Montane gear for many years and always been impressed, so, in Feb 2016 when I decided to get a ney cag I went for an Alpine Endurance. I have worn it no more than 15 times, in light rain on my daily 4 mile round trip to the village for the papers. Today I wore it for the same trip, in rain that was steady but not heavy and in windless conditions and carrying a lightweight day-sac. The jacket leaked through the zip; across the midriff and across the shoulders and down my back. Thankfully it was only a trip to the village and not a day on Quinag or the Torridon hills!! Highly unhappy and dis-satisfied with a performance that falls a long way of short of what should be expected of a £300 CAG.

Firstly I'd like to say I loved everything about this jacket, unfortunately after using it twice the material bobbled where my rucksack had been, it was sent back to montane who had it for two weeks only to return it saying and I quote not a manufacturing problem. I feel really let down by this response after spending so much on their product, needless to say I won't be buying anymore montane products. Thanks to Liz at Penrith go who sorted things out for me brilliant as usual, montane never again.

Serious attention to detail. Beautifully constructed. Wonderful zips. Event is great. Pit zips great. Cut great. Pockets great. Hood fantastic. Styling the best. Shows other manufacturers how it should be done. I'm 6' 1" and Xl. Jacket looks really something. This is very waterproof. Have to be careful though with layering as despite technical abilities it can get damp inside if too much heat is generated. Frustratingly I run very hot so it has taken a few trips to understand when to vent more to keep inside dry.

Exactly what I was looking for. I use it as a shell for skiing and its absolutely perfect in case anyone else was looking for something similar.
Extremely well made, durable face fabric. Less noisy and stiff than my previous Goretex pro shell. The fit of the medium is perfect (I'm 6ft and slim), not baggy but plenty of room for a nice warm mid-layer if required. Nice length with a drop to the rear hem.
The ratchet cuffs are a brilliant design. The hood is cavernous which means my ski helmet fits perfectly underneath and I can cinch everything right down and still cover my entire face below the googles. Pit zips are always a useful addition in spring. Added bonus is the upper arm pocket which I can use for ski-pass.
I've got a superlight jacket for mountainbiking etc so the weight is not an issue for me - I'd rather have the extra pockets for my purposes.
Amazing bit of kit.
