An innovative, 3-4 season mountain boot. Perfect for year-round hill walking and mountain treks below the snowline.
Meindl’s Vakuum GTX
is a tough, comfortable boot, perfect for mountain treks.
The Memory Foam System
(MFS) allows the Vakuum GTX
to mould around your foot leaving you with a capability to keep your feet secure and supported without risk of rubbing.
The GORE-TEX® waterproof lining provides you with protection from the weather while allowing great ventilation around your foot making sure you don't feel clammy or wet in warmer/wetter conditions or when you start to put effort in for that final push.
The cuff on the boot is padded for extra ankle support and the Multigrip Vibram sole, ideal for muddy, varied and rough terrain. At 800g per boot, the Vakuum is lightweight and ready to get to the top of any peak.

Excellent, 29 November 2016
After a lengthy process of selecting the right boot I eventually settled on these.
I had great difficulty finding a well fitting boot (presumably due to my odd feet!) and tried many pairs from a range of brands. The Vakuum work for me because the memory foam moulds to the foot. I've used them on a wide range of terrains in Snowdonia and they perform perfectly. They are a bit bulky if there's a lot of scrambling involved but over-wise sure-footed on all path types.
Good points: very comfortable, secure fitting, well built, warm in the winter, not over-hot in summer, never had a blister.
Not so good: quite bulky feeling, very slippy on ice. I use a lighter boot for general walking on good surfaces
I'm keeping them well fed with G-Wax, there's a little cracking of the leather around the creases but no leaks.
Money well spent and I hope they last many years!

Purchased these boots in Feb 2016.
Great fit and waterproof, lovely boots to wear.
However after 5 months of looking after.i.e cleaning and treating them with Nikwax cleaner, conditioner and waterproofer(recommended/used before)the leather has started to crack around seams and lace up points. The toe cap has started to come away and both heal membrane has started to break down and come away from sole.So returned to go-outdoors as under warranty.Go-outdoors agreed with problem and returned to Meindl(Bramwell International).Short story Meindl declined warranty???even Go-outdoor staff where shocked.
So buy if you are not worried about No warranty even though stated /offered by Meindl and expect to last half a year at most.In short these boots cost me £40 a month use.
Cant fault go -outdoor staff

I've worn these boots every day for just under a year now doing on average about 4 or 5 miles a day on a mixture of grass mud and pavements. The soles are going on one side but other than that they are perfect and have been the most comfortable boots I have ever had.
As said before treat the leather.
Best boots ever, 06 August 2016

Needed a new pair of good walking boots as my previous pair were sadly lacking. Decided to go high end and purchased these after trying on in store. Best boots i've ever worn. Extremely comfortable, warm ,dry and fit perfectly as the MFS moulds to the shape of your foot. Did'nt even have to break them in. Had them for two years now, hiking out in the surrey hills and odd trip to cumbria. Still going strong. Would definitely recommend.

I've had these boots for about a year now and they're fantastic.. expensive but I've done quite a bit of hiking and I think they're worth the money.. comfortable and very hard wearing.
Just make sure you treat the leather when you get them and regularly after cleaning.
