Warm Yet Cool, 04 February 2016
By Jacob (Wigan)
purchased this jacket while on sale at 18%
i was fed up of being cold so decided i needed an insulated jacket, and this jacket doesn't disappoint the quality is outstanding the only let down is the slightly snaggy zip, the mix of vertex endurance on the outside of arms and hood plus vertex quantum give great weather resistance.
plus it looks the part
Awesome jacket, 12 January 2016
This jacket has been with me mountaineering in the Caucasus, the Alps (in summer and winter), ice climbing and rock climbing. It's perfect - fit is great, it's durable and I don't have to worry about keeping it bone dry. Not as warm as many big puffy down jackets but that's not what it's trying to be.
As a bonus, it's a decent price and it looks cool enough to wear day to day too.
Excellent, 12 October 2015

Had this a while now, and used it in cold weather walks, as well as on some overnight camps on the hill in autumn cool and windy conditions as an outer layer.
It really is great.. Its a GO exclusive but its actually the same as a Mammut Rime Pro but without the interior mesh pockets. Its warm enough for standing around in on cold nights (although for winter you'd need something a little more substantial), its light, packs down well, and the hood is excellent with cinching all round. The material is soft, comfy, and warm, and the fleece lined handwarmer pockets are just another added bonus.
I love this jacket.. i'm hoping it will take me into winter as a standaround jacket for nights on the hill, but I think it will be pushing it for warmth, so probably not in all honesty. Don't let that put you off though as it really is incredibly warm and comfy.
Zip permanently snagged up, 05 February 2015
By Electronut (Sheffield)
In my first review I said that the zip was sometimes a pig. Well today the zip has completely snagged up and I can only take the jacket off over my head. Such a shame as I just love the performance other than this serious flaw. Taking it back tomorrow.
The best coat I've ever had, 18 January 2015
By Electronut (Sheffield)
Easiest the warmest coat I've ever had. I walk every week in the Peak District and in the recent snow I've been out with just a short sleeved shirt under this coat. It saves me loads of time going dog walking in the evening as I just put it on over whatever I am wearing and I am cosy as toast.
The zips are a bit of a let down though as they snag on the lining and the front zip is a pig to engage and release sometimes.
The coat packs down the size smaller than a bag of sugar and is light as a feather.
I have a heavy pair of leather gloves with Velcro fastening for dog walking but can't wear them with this jacket as the Velcro loops snag and pull on the micro fibre type material at the wrists.
I sometimes reach for another coat but just can't do it and put on the Mammut every time.
I haven't owned it long enough to say anything about the durability but I just love it.
Would give 5/5 but for the zips and none of that makes any difference as I am so glad I made this purchase.
