Great waterproof, 17 April 2017
By Rob (Knutsford)
Took me a while to find a waterproof that actually does keep me dry! This stood up to 9 hrs of solid rain whilst doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. Completely dry underneath and as a huge advantage it is relatively "Russel Free" i.e. Quiet! And a very good fit! Like all waterproofs it isn't completely breathable but fine when not climbing steep hills.
I would highly recommend.
Only user error caused leakage, 01 December 2015

This jacket had a harsh first day out, six and half hours in the Brecon Beacons, with two thirds of that time in wind gusting to 50 mph and driving rain, sleet and hail stones that bruised the lips. I cannot fault the jacket, but in these conditions if you give the rain any chance to get in it will take it. Rain eases, you take hood down for a minutes to get some air round your head- rain goes in hood, and it's only going to one place when you put it up again. Open a pocket to pull out a compass, rain gets in, loosen a zip for a bit of ventilation, rain get's in. Capillary action then does a good job of distributing that small ingress of moisture well away from the breach, and you can be left thinking the jacket itself was leaking.
This jacket was paired with 30 year old state of the art waterproof over-trousers, and very soon trousers, thermals and then socks were soon sopping wet. The jacket really worked well, the trousers were left in the round folder at YHA Danywenallt! Thankfully Christmas is coming.
Great balance of warmth/ breathability and waterproofing, 13 November 2015

I've been after a quality waterproof coat with a slight amount of warmth to replace my old Mammut jacket BUT crucially I didn't want to spend £300-400+ on a high performance Goretex Pro coat which I would need to layer up with!
This coat has a very thin layer inside the outer shell which helps keep you warm without getting you too hot and also helps keep the chilled air out.
The fabric shell is tough too so it should stand up to some abuse/ back pack wearing as well....it also has an athletic cut to it so if you don't like a tight well fitted jacket try going up a size
I'm approx 5' 8" and of slim to medium build and the medium was a little baggy around the torso/ long in the arms so I went for the small which fits perfectly snug with no baggy belly portion that makes you look overweight (like those cheap coats your parents made you wear when you were a kid did)
Overall 10/10 the perfect coat from autumn through to Spring (even chuck on in a rain shower during summer)
