A sturdy and cushioned boot for comfortable fast and light hiking.

GORE-TEX® TechnologiesIdeal for hiking in warmer weather (but great all year round with the right socks!), Mammut Comfort High GTX Surround Men's Walking Boots have a generously tailored fit, a soft inner feel and full waterproof protection with all-round breathability thanks to their GORE-TEX® SURROUND® technology.

GORE-TEX 'Surround' means just that – the internal waterproof membrane passes around and under the foot, while the ‘spacer area’ between sole and heel is vented to help air flow by up to 30% - which, in turn, stops your feet getting too sweaty.

Additional ventilation comes from the air-permeable layer between the wedge and insole, which also offers comfortable cushioning.

The lightweight hiking boot also features board lasting; the patented Rolling Concept®; a Hybrid Shell that provides shape and stability; an IP EVA wedge with excellent cushioning and integrated arch support; and a protective liquid rubber toe cap.

The Sonar comfort sole by gripex™, which uses multi-directional lugs and two different rubber hardnesses, gives you great grip on any terrain.
  • Rolling Concept - natural anti-roll behaviour, reduces fatigue (danger of twisting the ankle)
  • Sonar Technology - optimal sole edge stability and strength
  • Fine-grained synthetic leather upper with a sanded finish - light and water-repellent
  • Elastic GORE-TEX Tongue Construction - no formation of creases in the tongue area, easier to put on and take off
  • EVA IP wedge - optimum damping and abrasion values
  • Breathable RipStop - very tear-resistant and abrasion-resistant, highly breathable
  • TPU Insert - integrated arch support made from stable thermoplastic polyurethane
  • 3 Level Hybrid-Shell - a blend of supple inner and tough outer materials for enhanced comfort and improved adaptability
  • Weight: 918g (pair, size UK8.5)

Very comfortable, questionable laces, 24 February 2017
By Blobbo (Highlands of Scotland)
Bought three months ago these as a change to Salomons, which seem to be losing quality recently. They are very lightweight, and very comfortable, and so far, waterproof. They are sold as lightweight, and I would be a bit dubious about doing serious hillwalking in them, they are fine for me walking the dog over reasonable, albeit muddy ground, but they would be too thin for serious hills, I fear they would rip easily. As they are pretty thin, I also found my feet getting a bit cold - but that's living in Scotland for you.
Only big gripe is the laces, and lacing hoops. After two months one of the laces came apart where it rubbed against the metal lacing loop. Month later the other one did the same, build quality issue, loops are obviously too rough, and wear laces away, have put in laces from old salomons, see if they last longer.

NOT WATERPROOF, 04 February 2017
By Not happy (Plymouth)
Bought these boots as the were a very good fit and lightweight, I do a lot of walking on Dartmoor and have done now for about 20 years (so have owned a lot of boots over the years). After a month I noticed my feet were getting wet after walking through wet grass. I took the boots back and complained, they were sent away for testing and came back as having nothing wrong with them!! First time I wore them again wet feet..
Don't get me wrong the are very comfortable boots but they are not waterproof at all!!! I would say out of all the boots I have had these are by far the worst for waterproofing.. have started to wear my six year old berghaus boots again as they are still better in the wet than these..
really disappointed and can say I will never buy mammut again...

Leak, 24 July 2016
By Buzz (Bridgend)
After doing a lot of research went for these boots.
On the fourth time out found the left boot leaked.
Not happy as I'm waiting to find out if they will be replaced or repaired. A lot of money for boots that are not fit for purpose

Comfortable and light weight, 08 July 2016
By Martin (Isle of Jura)
Really enjoying these boots. They are much lighter than previous pairs I have owned but still feel supportive and inspire confidence out in the hills. The lower weight means a faster pace, or at least it feels like that.

Unbelievable!, 25 June 2016
By Arron (Gwent)
These boots were running shoe comfy straight out of the box. did not need breaking in. The comfiest footwear I own!

I had put about 80miles on these boots and then did the welsh 3 peaks. Typically it rained on every hill. We were all soaked to our pants (even with good waterproof outers) and I was the only one with dry feet at the end.

Highly recommend if you want a lightweight, fast walking, comfy boot. Just brilliant!!
