Works well but not worth the RRP compared to other kit available, 25 December 2016
Took this kit wild camping for two night in Dartmoor.
Got it for around £70 in a GO sale. Not worth full price IMO compared to other kit out there but at £70 it's not too bad!
Did a test run on 1L of water at home first and it was very quick.
A 100g gas canister and the burner fits snugly in the pot and it lasted two of us for the trip (total 4 main evening meals, two lunches, two breakfasts and numerous hot drinks.) There is still some gas left.
You can fit a 200/230g gas canister in the pot but will have to carry the burner and feet separately.
The kit comes with a felt-type draw-string bag so the burner and feet can stay in this.
Subsequently used this for a 3 day trip where I used a 230g canister and it again did its job well with plenty of gas left.
Don't like the some-what extortionate prices of accessories such as ring adapter (For normal cook pans) and the dedicated Jetboil frying pan.

Who am I? : Joe Begley Outdoor instructor freelancer (Mountaineering Joe). I assessment and train on MLs. I am out 2 sometimes 3 times a month on 2/3 day camping trips as a part of ML scheme. I have 4 stoves (gas and multi fuel) and use them depending on what I am doing. So no one stove it good at everything.
This stove is compact. Bowl, pot, stove, lid, small gas canister, stabiliser go inside. The small canister is only good for a night if cold and 2/3 nights if warm.
1.) compact for a stove setup
2.) burner fits to the pot which is handy as you can pick the hold thing up to fill things.
3.) Good control of flame
4.) Fast and efficient heater even in windy conditions saves the need for a separate wind shield in most conditions. Lid really helps in these conditions reducing steam particularly if you have to cook in the porch.
Could do better points:
1.) only the smallest of gas canisters able to fit in with burner
2.) The robust ish of the set up could do better . It's the way the pot attaches to burner requires looking after as it seems a bit flimsy and might not stand the test of time. But this applies to all Jet Boil products.
3.) As with a lot of these all right stoves it unstable even with the legs. So either cut it into the ground or bring a platform like a foil sheet to stand it on as you need stable ground to stop it going over (I of course camp a lot in boggy Wales). Either bigger legs or a platform it needs.
4.) The space isn't used efficiently when packed away etc for the canisters stand in the lid. But I find this with all stove kits they don't pack well
5.) Very pricey for what it is.
Summary: Compact, Heats very well. Suffers from the normal stability issues with these types of stoves and not the toughest. Over priced for what it delivers at full price. OK for UK and Europe but you need something stronger bigger and multi fuel for further afield.
Smartly designed, 28 August 2016

I was attracted to this stove because of its compact design. Your whole kitchen---the bowl, pot, boiler, lid, 100g gas canister, and canister stabilizer---is all designed to be stored away as one compact and small unit, and that can save on a lot of space.
I haven't used it very much yet, but here are three small points which I have not elsewhere seen mentioned. 1) The way the boiler fits to the pot seems a bit flimsy and could have been a bit sturdier made, I think. I'm careful when working with such things, so I'm not really afraid that it will ever break, and the boiler is stored safe inside the pot while traveling, but it's a small flaw, I think. 2) I often don't find 100 g canisters, and while a 230 g canister will fit in the pot, it cannot fit there with the boiler. That means, you'll have to store a 230 g canister on its own outside of the pot. I guess this is a trade off of making the pot wider and better for cooking. So, again, a minor flaw. 3) I think I've seen it listed as boiling a liter of water. It will actually only boil 750 ml at a time (the full extent of the pot is a liter, but of course for for safety you can't boil that much). Now, I would only rarely boil more than 750 ml anyway, so again it's a small thing, but these are just three points I hadn't known before buying the boiler myself.
But I'm very pleased with the boiler, and I'm convinced it's the best of its kind on the market. Highly recommended.

Does exactly what it says on the tin! Used it this weekend and it was brilliant for boiling water and cooking. Using the pot adapter allows you to use other pans.
