2 stars for being comfortable, 27 February 2017
It's laughable to call these a waterproof boot. Lightly dew resistant would be more like it, but actually these boots give you wet feet all year round - they are actually worse in the summer when the dew is on the grass . .
They are however hardwearing and comfortable, but this does not compensate for having wet feet 90% of the time.

Very comfortable boot, but as they say; you really do get what you pay for. Poorly constructed, not even able to keep out dew from the grass let alone be "waterproof" & built NOT to last. One season of humble dog-walking in local parks has destroyed my pair. I'm sticking to my trusty Meindl & Scarpas from now on.

I have had these boots for two (yes two) years plus and they are still going strong. I used to use another brand but wore them out in about 3-4 months. (without going near a regatta) I find these boots very comfy and the waterproofing has lasted the test of time so far. I don't hike as I am disabled but need support, comfort and long life. I do walk awkwardly and this means that my soles take a bit of a battering. These boots were recommended in-store as I had a moan about boots not lasting long. (So well done Edinburgh branch). I bought another pair in March 15 and they are still in the box so it looks like I wont need boots for a good while. I wear these boots EVERY day and they are still intact after two winters.
not waterproof, 24 April 2016
By oof (Derbyshire)
As mentioned by another reviewer, these boots cannot cope with dew on grass, so cannot be considered waterproof.
There is also very little arch support, which may be an issue for some people. I ended up adding arch supports.
If you are looking for waterproof boots, then look elsewhere. These are just not up to the job.

Would have been 0 stars, but that prevents the review been submitted. I've had these boots for 6 months, they have been used for walking my dog for about an hour a day, some of this is road and track with about a third on open fields, despite the previous review, I have had wet feet almost all of the time. It appears that wet grass is like ebola to these boots. furthermore shortly after buying the join between sole and upper on the rhs boot failed for a distance of about an inch and a half. on returning home today after walking my dog the first 3 inches of the sole on the left boot now hang limply off the upper, all of the glue has failed in its entirety. Seriously Hi Tec, Blue Peter are more advanced in the glue stakes than you!. i would have returned them sooner, but seeing as these were a replacement for another rubbish pair of boots and it is a 180 mile round trip, and that additionally Go outdoors returns policy is not like for like but will only refund the cost of the original pair I was hit for an extra 30 quid for these, I put It off But one very disappointed customer will be heading to the Cardiff store in the next few days. boots that last less than 6 months are not fit for purpose
