Vibram® RollinGait System.
Hi-Tec and Vibram® have worked hand in hand to yield a truly inspiring technology which will change the way people think about their footwear.
Vibram® has performed extensive research on the technicalities of mountain running and walking and has come to these conclusions:
- The descent is the crucial moment during which the footwear can be a determining factor in improving an athlete’s performance
- At the point when the descent gradient increases there is a greater tendency for the foot to make contact with the ground with the heel area
How it Works
The Vibram® RollinGait System builds on this data. RGS is a new innovative technology from Vibram® that aims to reduce muscle fatigue when running and walking. It has been especially developed to optimise energy output during downhill running and walking. When the foot first hits the ground it is usually with the heel, which is – at that point - the centre of pressure. Once the heel has made contact with the ground, the pressure moves towards the metatarsus and then to the toes. The curved shape of the RGS’s sole supports the natural movement of the foot whenever it experiences impact with the ground.

Great light-weight, good gripping all purpose, fine weather shoe. Built for narrow feet, but that's fine for me: you'll try them on anyway. Nice colours. The mesh covering ties and feet is very porous, so your feet will get wet in rain and wet grass. As well you will feel the cold air on chilly days. Definitely a fine weather shoe. With the discount, a very good deal.
Comfy Walking Shoes, 11 November 2015
These are very comfy walking shoes and are a good mix between an approach shoe and a trainer. They have a great grip and tough sole so feel good walking on different surfaces.
The only problem really is that they're not waterproof and even the water repelling properties are a little poor. They can survive a light shower or walking through lightly wet grass etc but realistically if there's a heavy downpour or you walk through puddles then you are likely to get wet socks/feet.
It's because the mesh material over the toe area offers no protection at all from the elements and can easily become sodden when being splashed by water from stepping in a puddle or heavy rain.
At the price of £67.50 as I bought them, they are great for dry weather or if you're careful in the wet but at this price point you could get something else that is fully waterproof. I think these will work much better in drier weather and the Summer months.
