Excellent low end boot., 02 January 2016
By Tim Smith (Castleton)
Had these just under two years or so, mainly as a sturdy pair of boots for the outdoors rather than serious walking. Initially the toung dug into my angles a little but not an issue now (people sometimes cut the excess off). I've worn them for work the last 7 months solid down a cave and they hold up just fine-really comfy. Waterproof-wise they are excellent; I've previously owned walking boots made of 'waterproof' fabric which just aren't waterproof at all, These have been totally waterproof. Only gripe it that just under three months ago the left toe began to come away from the upper and compromised the waterpoof-ness. Stuck back in place with some two part glue and been fine since. Bottom line is that you'd really struggle to get a better boot for the £40ish mark.

I own hand made Alt berg boots and as they did not get back from a factory re sole in time for me to do a two week coast walk in Cornwall I made an 11th hour dash trip to go outdoors and chose these boots. They are a good looking boot, comfortable and have a reasonable padded heel. I coated them with a waterproofing gel before using them. They proved to have a good water resistance and have good ankle support. On the downside I could feel every pebble through the sole and bruised the bottom of both feet. I walked 38 miles in the first two days and the sole of one boot started to come off so I stopped wearing them and used an old pair of Braishers I keep for " just in case". I returned them today to go outdoors and was offered a replacement or refund immediately. I spend a fair bit there and Will continue doing so.These are a good dog walking boots for on flat pavement or fields.
Walking straight from the box, 07 September 2014

Brought these boots at 9.50am and was on a couple of mile walk through Blean RSPB Nature reserve 30 mins later. Boots were comfy straight from the box. I have been on a few walks since - rambling through the Kent countryside and had no issues so far. Time will tell how they get on in the long term, plus Autumn / winter walking to see how the waterproofing holds up. But at the mo, its a thumbs up from me and excellent price value too!

See review dated 13th August. Returned Ottawa boots to Cardiff store. Staff were excellent. Offerered me a refund or replacement boots. Chose the latter and had a pair of Hitec Trail Summit. These are the new range and look great. Time will tell how durable they are. 5 Stars to Go Outdoors. Thanks for making me a continued happy customer.

Bought Hitec Ottawa boots in June 2014. Looked great and very comfortable . Problems are now appearing after approx 100 miles. Feet very wet, only used on road and cinder trak. Also rubber seperating from leather at front of both boots. Will be returning to shop in next few days. Will post update re how Gooutdoors deal with me.
