Hi Gear Self inflating mat - Good investment!, 04 August 2011
By 4apples+Dog (Wakefiled)
Have camped for the last few years and used a double 'flocked' inflatable air bed. Have been very comfy but ocasionally cold, feeling damp and waking throughthe night with a cold / uncomfortable back. Llate last year we camped out in October(Northumberland). There were some cold nights and the cold ground was striking through to the bed and keeping the air below us pretty cold which made for some considerable sleep deprivation after five nights! Never Again!. We invested in the Hi gear self inflating mats and the difference was fantastic!! The wife was sceptical at first being so close to the ground. The mat was comfy , warm and snug. we only had a cotton sheet on top of the mat and took a duvet for over the top. Easy to inflate / deflate and pack away, lightweight. Brilliant! A great investment. Second time around replaced the kids air beds and purchase two singles. Lost a star for one minor point - although the mats did self inflate I felt it necessarry to also blow into the inflator valve with no more than 4 or 5 breaths for added comfort.

Worse than useless, 16 August 2010
By Jules (Kent)
After sleeping on this for 4 nights, our view is that it is useless! That is despite us blowing it up manually too. IT was just not thick enough :-(
