Small sizing, 08 July 2014
This is just a review on the sizing to help anyone buying online. I was looking for a replacement for my excellent lowe alpine trousers of a similar design that I've had for a decade but seem to no longer be made. These were the only affordable option but the sizing was very small so I had to leave them. I have other brand s of walking trouser in a size 14 but these were tight in a 16 so if you're ordering online be aware that you might need to size up. The fabric is quite flimsy compared to my lowe alpines but then so are the similar but expensive Montane trousers. The 3 stars are for the style of the trousers which I have found really practical & comfortable over the years.
Excellent trousers, 13 June 2014
I bought these trousers for an adventure week in Wales. They were the best purchase I have made in a long time. The stretchy knees and hips were essential for rock climbing, as they allowed me a bit more 'give' to raise my legs higher. The fabric dries out really quickly, and were still light-weight when saturated, which was well needed halfway up Pen Y Fan when the heavens opened! The price of these trousers is incredibly reasonable for the quality of the garment. I would recommend these trousers for a variety of outdoor pursuits. I found them to be very good for river walking and wearing under caving gear also. A very good buy.

What a great product. I was looking for a reasonably priced pair of trousers for walking. I tried on several pairs all in the £20-£40 price range, and for me, these were the bet product.
They had the best fit, the pockets are great. I did wonder why I needed a knee pocket, but that is a perfect place for keeping doggy-pooh bags.
I was worried that the fabric would be noisy when I walked, but it was fine.
My main concern was the contrasting fabric on the knee panels. If I could have bought an all-black pair I would. But I bought the product because it was the best fitting pair of trousers for me and they were so comfy and good pockets and so on that I was more than happy to tolerate the black fabric on the knees.
Did a 12 mile walk in them and didn't even know I had them on !
I bought a size 10 which was a perfect fit. Some other brands were way too small for a 10 and yet the 12 was enormous. So I would say that the sizing is accurate
