Ripple Pegs are designed to use in Soft ground, 11 July 2016
By Chrisb (Bristol)
Bit confused by the poor reviews, ripple pegs are to be used in sand. Designed to give friction so wont pull out easily, but also means that if you are trying to put into soil or have to hammer in then yes they will bend !!

I brought 3 packs of these to use instead of pegs that came with tent, thinking they would be more secure. Well they did secure the tent, mainly because half of them buckled once tapped with a mallet (even at the correct angle), meaning they formed a v locking the guy lines in. unfortunately when removing the pegs it was evident not more than 5 out of the 30 were in a re-usable condition.
My conclusion is that these are no better than the wire pegs that come with the tent. If you are going to upgrade, save some money in the long run and pay the bit extra for more durable ones that you will not have to replace after each trip

I am very reluctant to post negative reviews but these pegs were so poor that I feel obliged to comment. If they ewere hit with any force whatsoever they buckled and bent and were completely iseless..
Not knowing what we needed for hard ground we asked for advice in store, and were sold these. They were useless and bent easily and did not grip in the ground. As an experiment tried to use them in grass - same result. Returned our unused packs for refund. Poor advice, poor product.

Very disappointing. I took four to supplement my alluminium pegs thinking the steel would be stronger and get me out of trouble in harder ground. With one wack of the hammer they bent. They bend more readily than my aluminium ones!! No point in taking this extra weight.
