Info
The Hi Gear Corado 8 is a large 8 person family tent that offers a great combination of space and practicality.
The door canopy offers the facility to cook inside or out without damaging the groundsheet, and the choice of entrances allows you to choose your layout of tent furniture to suit your camp, and to ventilate the tent fully if it overheats or fills with barbecue smoke.
The internal standing height allows the freedom of movement and the feeling of space.
The 3000m hydrostatic head waterproofing ensures a dry, reliable retreat in troublesome weather while the sewn in ground sheet stops the wet dew in the morning. Ideal for family holidays, the Corado is perfect for getting away from it all.

Fantastic Spacious tent, 11 October 2011

Had a mixed weather weekend away this tent with and our 4 kids. It stood up to all that the Scottish Weather could throw at it and there was plenty of space indoors when it rained. Would recommend to any family but be prepared as it does take up most of your cat boot space.

This tent is truly huge. You could park an estate car in it and still have room for the family. Perfect for our family of five. Absolutely delighted with it. No problem with the front door - just make sure it's closed before you put up the final section as per instructions. Keep the rear vents open or you will get a fair bit of condensation. As others have said it was admired and visited by others on the campsite who couldn't believe we hadn't had to pay a lot more for it. Easy to put up too once you have had a practice run. Excellent design, everything there for a reason, vast number of options with doors windows, fly screens etc. Also just had a faulty item from Go Outdoors online - rang them up, the lady was brilliant, no fuss, no quibbles, replacement in the post the next day. Highly recommended.

Went to store to ask over the missing pelmet trim with Hi Gear Logo, which is shown on the internal photo's of the tent.
Apparently it was only used for promotional pics/purposes only, we were informed, and is not included with the tent due to restrictive air-flow, causing excessive condensation in the tent.
Surely it would have been nice to have been given the option or choice as to whether you use it or not, and not have that choice made for you.
As for the restrictive air-flow in the tent, causing excessive condensation, I find this hard to believe, what with the height of the tent and the large air-vent at the back. It works okay with other makes/models of tent, to have the pelmet trim.
The double cable access point issue is no longer advertised in the description and has since been removed since my first review was placed.
All that said, the tent really is fantastic and we just love the versatility of the tent.
In June it was 2 parents, 1 grandparent, 2 adult teenagers and 2 dogs for 10 days. 3 bedrooms were used and dog cage replaced one bedroom. Full camping set-up with cooker, worktops, tables, camping chairs, fridges, coolboxes etc with plenty of room for the dogs to roam about freely. Last trip away was end of Aug with just the 2 of us and the 2 dogs for 3 days, with only 2 bedrooms put up, using the second one for the porta-potty and as a changing room, basic set-up and loads of room when it rained.....withstood the rain and the wind through the night very well, no problems with leaks.
As others have said when erecting this beast, start at the back of the tent and move forward, but make sure you get each section tight between poles before moving forward to the next set of poles, otherwise you may get water pooling on the roof between the sections if it rains.
Happy Camping...!!!!
