Needs some help to actually inflate, 07 February 2012

I got one of these from in store after looking at all the self inflating mats they had in stock. I chose this because it seemed good value and although not that thick it felt quite firm. When you first inflate one of these the instructions say to blow it up yourself through the valve and then after the first use, when you open the valve it will self inflate.
It does not self inflate. I was very disappointed with it. The smallest amount of air goes into it and you have to blow it up yourself.
I have rated it 3 stars because it does not inflate itself sufficiently, hardly at all in fact. On the plus side once you have blown it up the valve holds the air well without any leaks and it is very comfortable.

As an aged born again camper I couldnt face dragging out the foam sleeping mat again. I had tried these mats in the past but was always put off by the cost, but at these bargain prices I had to buy one (and eventually several) I found mine warmer and way more comfy than an airbed, but then I did get myself a 5cm thick one and thinner ones for the kids, they love them too!

Bought these to go on top of the kids camp beds. Bought mainly for warmth but they make the camp beds very comfy. Nice and easy to transport as well.
