Having used these for nearly 30 years doing everything from Mountain Marathons, Triathlons, European and coast to coast cycling trips, canoeing, sailing & climbing, I still swear by them. There will always be someone with the latest generation and highest priced alternative but this does exactly what you need.. it wicks away moisture leaving you feeling comforatable however sweaty you are. On lightweight tours they can be packed away in a small space. They dry out quickly when washed and the black ones hide many a bicycle oil stain leaving you looking respectable. On many tours I survive with one of these, a fleece and a cag... A spare and some Ron Hill tracky bottoms great as pyjamas on a night camp. Always recommended..

I have had my HH for at least 4 years now and its still going strong. I have used it on the hills, on the bike and even caving underground.
It wicks well and keeps you reasonably warm.
What I really like about it is you can roll the sleeves up if you get too hot (especially good when on the bike), I find this feature lacking in some other base layers, although some would argue it is good to have a closer fit, I find this option the most versitile.
Drys reall quick as well, which is a plus. It can indeed get smelly if you wear it a few days in a row or are working hard, but most clothes are the same.

If you are looking for a base layer to wick away sweat quickly this is what you need. Its light, wicks well and comfortable to wear. These have been around for years and even come in Olive now as they are so popular with the Forces. I wear mine when im on the hills climbing or hiking and its perfect.
There are better materials out there now like prowool, Merino etc but I own all available materials and you pay for what you get. A reviewer mentioned they smell after plenty of use, so do the prowoll tops. They wont last forever, although mines seems to have but for what they are they are brilliant.
Common fault is people wear these base layers then wear a cotton tshirt over them, each layer needs to be breathable for the system to work properly and effeciently.
4 stars as its a great product but other names are catching up!
