I was looking for a light weight and waterproof walking/scrambling shoe. Somewhere between the walking trainers and heavy duty walking boot and these are it. They were comfortable to wear from the start. The lacing system is great for adjustment which as i have broad feet is sometimes a problem getting a good fit. Have great grip and feel sturdy. Its really nice to come back after a days walk through long wet grass streams, puddles and mud and have dry feet and they look too. A great buy for me.

Used these new for a week in Cortina Italian Dollomites. Brilliant on rock with great feel under the forefoot. fantasticaly comfortable and supportive from the off due to the shape of the upper and the lacing system which lets you personalise the fit. minimal padding allowed my feet to stay cool despite temperatures in the high twenties. Gave me confidence on via ferrata and with them being lightwieght the 1000 meter vertical we did every day seemed less fatigue inducing than lugging a big hefty pair of climbing boots about on the end of your legs. Constructive critisism might suggest a more supportive cup under the forefoot particularly on the outside of the foot and if you are purely a walker and don't climb or scramble then maybe an extra couple of milimeters protection under the forefoot, though I loved the feel and grip under foot. would also suggest that the heel is more rounded up at the back to prevent catching on decents though I'm being finnicky now. overall a revolution in footwhere for me after 40 odd years of mountaineering.
