An excellent product which did exactly what it said on the...bottle.
I bought the XT Proofer when my eVent jacket started leaking, after using the proofer, is a good as when I bought it. Water now beads satisfyingly on the surface and there is no absorbtion whatsoever. I have also treated a pair of Gore-tex gators, with exactly the same result.
Simply wash the garment, spray on the proofer whilst garment is still wet, allow to dry and then run through the tumbledryer on medium/low for 20 mins to activate and you're done!
I have recently experimented with trying to proof a pair of Rohan Superstriders, which are listed as 'showerproof'. Once again, after proofing, water just runs off the surface, so I am very happy!
The only thing that I can't comment is how long each treatment will last. The bottle says upto 10 washes or several rainstorms, but we will have to see.
However, I would say that considering how easy the process of proofing is and that the treatment can be re-activated by another spin in the tumbledryer, I'm not really worried about how often it needs re-proofing.
