The Farpoint 70 is a large, 70 Litre capacity sack designed for exploration and backpackers. Made with streamlined, contemporary features and a light weight fit, the Farpoint 70 is an excellent choice for long days on foot- this one of our best backpacks for gap year travellers. The thick and tough 210 x 330D Nylon Shadow Box and 420D Nylon Pack Cloth keep the Farpoint resistant to excess abrasion and damage whilst the large compartments give the space you need.
For comfort as well as strength, the Farpoint 70 benefits from a ‘Farpoint Suspension’ system with a LightWire™ Frame covered with spacer mesh that keeps the pack close to the body to prevent excess movement, but also absorbs away moisture.
For a closer fit and torsional stability, the Farpoint 70 has a 3/4 Length Fixed Hipbelt with an ErgoPull™ hipbelt closure. You can even spin the pack and wear it safely on your front in countries when you are concerned about theft and personal safety.
Dimensions: 25" x 14" x 13" (64cm x 36cm x 32cm) not including daysack

Good for travel, not so great for expeditions, 04 July 2016
By Leon (Derby)
Detachable day pack is brilliant and my go-to bag for day hikes/everyday use.
Converts into a holdall by zipping the cover over the straps.
Comfortable to wear.
Not a top loader so easy to get to things at the bottom.
High quality from Osprey.
Main pack lacks extra compartments for things you need to access regularly.
No bladder pocket.
Inner compression straps have a habit of twisting.
Things tend to slide out of the compression sacks.
No ventilation area on the back.
Incredible bag!, 17 October 2015
Absolutely amazing bag! Definitely recommend! Check out my video review here:
Excellent for travellers, 23 December 2013
By JD (Sheffield)
I have been travelling with this bag for one and a half months now and have got use to my new backpack! Due to my own unfortunate circumstances I was unable to try the backpack before buying I think the small/medium may have been better for me but it does fit well on the smallest settings. I had a similar (older) karrimor bag before purchasing this one.
Good points - I love the day bag it's much better than the last one comfortable to cary with useful pockets and attaches on better as I fill it too much at times I can't zip it all the way but the clips ensure it's nice and secure. The option to clip the day bag on the front is also very convenient and I have been subject to many jealous states. When leaving the backpack in storage they also only charge me for one bag if the day bag secured on. The zips are very forgiving, they take a lot of abuse. For me it is much better than most other people's backpacks which load from the top with a drawstring to close. I can find things much easier as it opens right up and you don't have to remove everything to get things from the bottom, my travel friend has a nightmare finding stuff in her 'top loader'!
Bad points- The one thing I do miss is a shoe compartment. The bag is very secure due to having one zip which can be padlocked but if your anything like me I over fill it, before finding something I have forgot to put in and there isn't a sneaky area to squeeze in last minute items. The material is very thin which makes it very light but I do get concerned if I can see a sharp corner poking out that it could make a hole, I have had no problems with this so far and I assume the material has been designed with this in mind and is very strong.
Overall great value for money a brilliant lightweight functional backpack with great attachable day bag, very secure. Just missing a shoe compartment!
