Ok for popping to the shop, 18 March 2017
By VintageGt (Newcastle)
This jacket is well styled and great for walking the dog or popping to the shop but for actual outdoor pursuits such as hill walking etc and things which may involve getting caught in inclement weather, forget it.
I really like this jacket but the first time I wore it to go hill walking in Northumberland it poured down and I was very quickly soaked to the skin. That was quite early in the walk and whilst the jacket quickly dried on the outside, my mid layer and the inside of the jacket such as the pockets remained wet for hours pretty much ruining the walk.
I'll attempt to waterproof it using some Nikwax spray or similar but certainly won't rely on it as a waterproof ever again whilst miles from home on a remote hill.
Good jacket for day to day stuff but NOT waterproof for anything other than a 5 minute shower.

Bought this for work. I'm a tree surgeon.
I've climbed, dragged, walked, run and been through some very rough terrain in this jacket and it's still waterproof not torn or ripped anywhere, kept me warm and also well ventilated I even bought another for leisure activities.
Great jacket, 28 June 2016

This is a fantastic jacket for the money it cost. Just got back from Snowdon this weekend and I wore this all the way up and down, zipped arm pits are great when the going warms up. It withstood 6 hours of constant rain on Sunday and didn't leak at all. So impressed I have just reserved another in black for out and about in town
Good jacket, 19 June 2016

Used this jacket to complete a very wet Welsh 3000's. At the end of the day it kept me dry and the wind off me in some foul weather. My partner has the ladies version, she finished the walk smiling and dry. Thumbs up all-round.

Been out in all weathers and it is certainly waterproof, but NO breathability at all. May be OK for a slow stroll around town, but as soon as any effort is required it quickly becomes soaking inside - and I perspire very little!! From this point of view it is the least comfortable jacket I have ever had. You can open the underarm/side zips, but not much use if it is throwing it down as your sides get wet, and they are a pain to zip up again while you are wearing the jacket.
