Powerful but a bit fragile, 29 December 2011

Absolutely brilliant headtorch in terms of power, the ability to adjust focus from wide to beam is great. I have a Niteflux Vision Stick LED torch/mountain bike light, and thought that was bright until I bought this.
Beware i'd recommend using lithium cells in the headtorch as it only takes AAA's and if you have it on full power it eats them. Also as it is unregulated the beam power also drops in relation to battery power. I'd recommend conveting to Lipo power as I have done you can buy small sized battery packs for the mini helicopters off Ebay for next to nothing, and is a much cheaper alternative (if you've got a lipo charger of course).
My only gripe and hence the loss of one star is the fragility of the wiring, the wires are really thin gauge and break easily inside the actual wire casing near where they enter the battery pack. Mine has done this and i've managed to bodge it for now but the wires will need replacing for some better quality cable.
Overall really good quality headtorch other than the wiring extremely powerful, and can't really complain about battery life as there has to be a trade off somewhere (higher power = faster battery drain).

Cannot fault the light, much brighter and reaches further than others available for the same price. Batteries are only covered by a rubber cover which could be a problem but only time will tell. Overall, excellent value for money.
