Craghoppers - 50 Years Of Travel
A lot has happened in the last 50 years. Back in 1965 when we first hit upon the idea to turn our passion for travel into a bona fide business, it felt like we were embarking on an exciting - and at times perilous - trip into the unknown. Our perseverance paid off and we never looked back.
The world may have moved on, but in many ways our mission today is the same as it was all those decades ago - to harness the latest technologies to create a comfortable, practical clothing range that helps us stay on the trail for longer.
Each season we’ve refined our selection, introducing new designs that are even more agile, waterproof, insulating and sun protective than before. One of our greatest successes is NosiLife - a lightweight adventure collection that provides permanent protection against biting insects and the diseases they transmit. We believe it’s made a real difference to hot-climate travel.
Today we share our wanderlust with more people than ever before - fellow voyagers who are as keen as we are to explore the furthest reaches of our beautiful planet and to share their experiences with others.
How It All Began
Craghoppers began as a meeting of minds in a makeshift clothing workshop in Batley in the United Kingdom, back in 1965. Mount Everest was our goal and you go there prepared or you don’t go at all.
As hikers and climbers, we made outdoor wear for adventures where we’d perish unprepared. We tested our gear worldwide, until we could trust it on the world’s highest mountain.
Behind every stitch lies 50 years of experience, 50 years of design, 50 years of construction and 50 years of fun.
