A lightweight, trail centre ready mountain bike with high spec components for maximum performance.
Check out the glowing review the Two.Two on BikeRadar.com here: "Great spec at a price that makes it the bargain of the year ...almost certainly the best sub-£400 bike we've ever ridden"
With a stylish new livery for 2016, the Calibre Two.Two V2 Alloy Hardtail Mountain Bike gives you performance that is simply unheard of at its price.
Made with a hydroformed alloy frame, Rockshox forks and Shimano Deore shifting, you're looking at some serious high-end gear and a bike that will push your riding to the next level whether you're just starting out or upgrading your existing machine.
The aerospace-grade 6061 aluminium frame is hydroformed for optimum trail ruggedness. Classic 26er geometry has been modernised with a slacker head angle for greater stability and improved descents.
Tyre clearance is plentiful to help you keep rolling when the trail gets muddy, with the WTB tyres giving you superb grip and control up front with lower rolling resistance and cornering control at the rear.
Front suspension comes courtesy of Rockshox XC28 forks. With 100mm of travel, the XC28s are tuned towards fast cross-country riding but have the strength to take on the rough stuff when required. A turnkey lockout gives the option to lock the suspension for improved pedaling efficiency when suspension isn't needed. It's a great feature that saves you energy while climbing and lets you go even faster over smooth ground.
A triple chainset makes light work of tough climbs and gives access to a huge range of 27 gears. A Shimano Deore rear derailleur moves up and down the range with ease, finding the gear you need quickly and smoothly every time. Shimano thumb shifters integrate neatly into the handlebar setup and are easy to use and adjust.
Shimano also takes care of braking with their M395 hydraulic disc brakes offering powerful, precise braking with reliable performance in all conditions. 160mm disc rotors are large enough to take on fast, long descents in confidence.

calibre two two mountain bike, 03 January 2017

I've always built my bikes from parts to my own specification but I was beginning to find the stretch along my road bike too much. Time to look for something more comfortable in the form of a mountain bike as I'm 70 this year and the lanes around my house are a nightmare for 23x 700s. Saw a recommend on Bike Radar for the calibre two two and purchased it online. Amazed at the quality and spec for the price. I can only presume the low price is because it doesn't have the latest trendy 29er wheels, but who cares it's a bargain!

Pros. Bike has nice specification of parts (except the chain) and rides very well. Good entry level trail bike. Customer service from Go outdoors was very good, I hope this continues now they have been purchased by JD sports.
Cons. The chain snapped first ride out, it is of a very poor quality, the bike had to go into a shop to be re adjusted as the gear change was poorly set up.
Still waiting for a replacement plastic ring that was broken on delivery.

Bought this bike with the insurance money to replace my old MTB that was stolen (scumbags). I could not believe the difference between the Two Two and my five year old - but cost more - big brand MTB. A big step up. I now know why I felt such a dunce on MTB trails - it wasn't all me, some of it was down to my old bike.
The Two Two performs impeccably: smooth, good climber, good stopper, controllable, good components, and able to be ridden at speeds i did not think i would ever be able to achieve.
The only negative is that if you buy this from the store there is not a 'take it away in the box' option. You have to wait for it to be built and come back the next day to collect - but i forgot this as soon as i was flying down the Long Mynd.

Fantastic bike, you really see the quality when you take your first look at it. Then it just gets better when you start to ride it. Brakes are great with one or two fingers so no fear when your heading down a rocky forestry track or just cruising along the road. Gear changes are super smooth and the front forks are so easy to adjust giving you a sweet ride on the bumps.
I had never paid more than £150 for a bike before and this is just night and day compared to them, they did the job they were bought for but the Two.Two just asks you to try and push your limits every time you ride it. Awesome bike - keep up the good work Go-Outdoors
