A classic hardtail mountain bike which builds on the success of the award-winning Calibre Two.Two.
The Calibre Crag Mountain Bike
gives you great value XC performance with full Shimano shifting, mechanical disc brakes and Suntour suspension forks, with a fresh new livery for 2016.
The frame itself is constructed from aerospace-grade 6061 aluminium
, hydroformed for optimum trail ruggedness and precisely hand-welded at every join. The geometry is designed around the 26" wheels for classic XC handling while modern touches like a slackened head angle
bring things right up the minute with better handling on tougher trails. Suntour XCT forks
provide 100mm of responsive, coil-sprung front suspension
to keep you in control over rough terrain.
Full Shimano shifting
ensures an efficient drivetrain to keep you moving fast. A 24x34x42T triple chainset combines with a 7-speed rear derailleur for a huge range of 21 gears
, each of which is easily, quickly, and smoothly accessible with the Shimano EZ-Fire shifters
on your handlebars. Whatever the terrain throws at you, you'll have a gear to handle it. When you do need to slow down, powerful mechanical disc brakes with 160mm rotors
will provide the stopping power consistently and reliably every time.
The bike rolls on 26" wheels
with durable double-wall alloy rims
and hardwearing steel hubs
. 26" wheels are easier to control than bigger 27.5" or 29" wheels, making them great for newer mountain bikers who are still honing their skills. The wheels are shod with 2.1" tyres with a fast and grippy tread
for great versatility in varied conditions and terrain.
In short, the Crag is like the Two.Two but even better. The frame has proven itself time and time again, impressing experts in the media and regular Go Outdoors customers alike. With a brand new spec and the same amazing value for money, the Crag is set for even bigger things.

Bought one of these at the beginning of 2016 and glad I did, just seen the new price of £350 compared to what I paid, fab bike.
I got it pre assembled and picked it up a week after ordering it, had to take it back to get a few bits checked out after the free 6 week service, the front wheel had come loose and the handlebars had rotated to a dipped position while riding it from Painswick to Gloucester up and down steep hills on road, was quickly checked and fixed in store.
Have ridden it on part of the C2C and scots borders, on trails in Bristol and the forest of dean and love it. I would advise change the saddle, I have put a gel set on for more comfort as the supplied one I find too firm for the trails. At £350 I'd probably have spent the extra £50 to get the hydrolic brakes on the Two Two but at the time I hadn't wanted to spend nearly £400 and so the Crag was the winner, something that Influenced my decision was the bikeradar review, being at the time one of the top 10 bikes for less than £500, surely a good thing.
Extremely good value for money, 14 November 2016

The bike arrived quickly but sorry to say some damage was incurred on delivery. However, this was quickly resolved by customer services with no detrimental effect to the unit.
The bike was quickly assembled but using my own tools rather that the pathetic kit provided which were next to useless and would be no good even in emergency, perhaps someone ought to tell the manufacturers that hexogon screws have six equal sides and spanners have parallel sides.
Putting all that aside the bike performs well in service with smooth and effective gear changes, solid brakes and moderate to good front suspension normally found on more expensive bikes. Saddle is better than most I have used but still on the very firm side for me. The colour scheme is impressive and the finish is pretty good for the price. The wheels and tyres are adequate to good but to me a more chunky tread would be beneficial.
Taking all into consideration a bike with good spec and excellent value for money.

Great bike. Solid. Terrific value for money. Can't fault it at all. Had it 2 days and been out both days on it. James at the Basildon store especially helpful not very often you get challenged on why that particular product but made me more at ease making the purchase due to his knowledge.

Picked up bike from Hanley store ready for me to ride to work next day They told me that they had serviced and checked the bike.. Next day got bike out for work. Got to get to stoke for 2pm. Got as far as lime kiln bank and had puncture. Walked it back to Bucknall Bikes who had to put new inner tube in. The assistant also had to tighten up various nuts and screws said that they were very loose. Had to pay £6.00. Managed to get to work just in time. Feel annoyed with the situation. Either was faulty tyre or just bad luck. Apart from that the bike for its price is very good. Have had no more problems with it. Looks smart and comfortable to ride. Might just change the saddle for more comfy ride soon. Will be taking bike back in next few weeks for free check up.
