Features

Calibre's award-winning full-suspension mountain bike, available exclusively at GO Outdoors.

Just awarded MBR's Bike of the Year 2015, the Calibre Bossnut has been designed for both newcomers and experienced riders, with geometry that's tuned for confidence-inspiring stability and able to respond sharply to aggressive riding.

This full-suspension bike will help you conquer those rough, steeper terrains that a hardtail simply can't handle, giving you plenty of scope for future upgrading as your riding progresses.

It has a double-butted aluminium frame with a smooth-welded front triangle and a single pivot swing arm designed around 130mm travel platform, giving an ideal amount of suspension for all-round trail riding.

The RockShox Sektor Silver Solo Air fork and the Monarch R rear shock offer plush air-sprung suspension with rebound adjustment, the front fork being lockout-equipped for efficient pedaling when suspension isn't required. The rear shock maintains traction over rough ground, giving you greater control of your bike and letting you power through terrain that would previously have you grabbing your brakes.

The full Shimano Deore 2x10 groupset includes a clutch-equipped Shadow+ rear mech for improved chain retention, rugged enough to take serious trail abuse whilst still providing precise, efficient performance. The Shimano hydraulic disc brakes, and their integrated I-spec lever design, bolts together with the gear levers for a tidy, easy-to-use cockpit.

Deore hubs and tubeless-ready WTB ST i25 rims continue the upgrading theme, allowing you to make the move to tubeless tyres with a minimum of fuss. The WTB Vigilante sits on the front wheel to provide extra control and grip while cornering, while the Bee Line's lower tread keeps the rear wheel rolling fast.

Ritchey provide their famous high-quality aluminium components for the seatpost, stem and handlebars with their Trail Rizer bars right on trend for the modern trail rider at a 760mm width.

The Bossnut Ladies is also now available, designed with a women's specific size and components. Please click here for more information.

Awesome, 03 December 2016
By Trophycliipp
The bike is amazing, I ride the Purbecks with mates, who have much more expensive bikes and the Bossnut kicks ass.

Don't let the name put you off. A dropper post would be great, but the gears are crisp, shocks take most hits I throw at it and the geometry is pretty relaxed and comfortable.

I added new grips, pedals, Icetech 180 Rotors and Sintered pads...

10/10

Only one thing I'd change, 28 November 2016
By BrownBear
I'd gladly have paid a little extra for the tubeless ready version of the tyres, so that I could take advantage of the TR rims - which as usual are a pain to prise the bead off in case of puncture on trail

Everything that you have read about this bike is true!, 24 November 2016
By Timboz (Maidenhead)
What an amazing bike! I have had this bike for about 3 weeks now and have ridden it several times - and what a ride! I spent some time researching this bike online before deciding to purchase it. I have to agree with all the reviews and awards. I cant believe how well this bike climbs when you go for it, and once set up the suspension is very plush. The balance is superb and has a very stable feel to it.

Setting up was easy and setting the sag was straightforward. I am 5'10" and 11½ stone in weight and I am running 85 psi in the fork and 150 psi in the shock, with the rebound wide open on both. Tyres are at 35 psi, however I intend to go tubeless in the future. I will also add a dropper post!

Issues. Out of the box the front derailleur needed adjustment and I will need to bleed the rear brake. Also, as other reviewers have mentioned, please keep an eye on the pivot bolts as they can work lose. One of the pivot bolts has been rounded and I need to talk to Go Outdoors about this to get a spare. If you are not a confident mechanic I would suggest paying someone to put it together for you.

So if you are after a great full suspension mountain bike at a killer price and are not a badge snob then go for it!!

Great bike just needs setting up correctly, 21 November 2016
By adley (Essex)
Getting back into mountain biking after around 15 years out and needed something robust to build my confidence on before splashing out a fortune. This bike has exceeded my expectations. On its 3rd outing I was hitting blacks at Bike Park Wales and spent a day pedalling squares up Afan. The bike is solid, stable and really takes care of you when hitting big boulders. The only reason I have given it 4 stars is because the rear shock got stuck closed and refused to be pumped up. I had to remove it and open it to release the pressure. When put back together normal behaviour resumed. The rear tyre is useless for anything but dry conditions and the brakes/gears needed adjusting out of the box. I think GO Outdoors could have spent a little more time on the setup before shipping. All in great value for money and I had no problem keeping up with the 6k santa cruzs. Worth noting, I swapped the standard pedals for something more sturdy and added a dropper saddle, swapped the rear tyre for something with more meat. Also if you are thinking of hitting bigger stuff its worth going tubeless or pro core as I punctured 4 times in 2 days.

Great bike. Great price. But..., 17 November 2016
By Simon T. (UK)
Have had the bike 2 weeks now and it has proved itself more than capable of living up to the hype.

Much faster on roads than my old 26" hardtail; even if it does sound like a distant Land Rover.

Could do with a slighty higher gear, but this only really mattered on a steep downhill road section. At all other times the gearing was perfect.

Once off road the bike came into its own. So much better than any other full-suspension bike I have previously owned (Marin and a GT). Much faster and much plusher: it could cover ground at speed without killing your lower back in the process. Trackd bumps well, and so much better when climbing; fork lock out made huge difference.

Only issue was with quality control. I sat down heavily on the saddle, and the clamp shifted leaving the saddle in a very uncomfortable position. On checking, one of the 2 saddle clamp bolts was loose. This should have been picked up during the PDI. No harm done, but one to watch out for Go Outdoors...

You won't be disappointed with this bike but do check every nut and bolt before your first ride!
