Nice and useful guide in a style of its own, 12 June 2014

Never seen a guide like this - organised by the type of day out you are looking for rather than by geography or rock type (it is indexed and mapped so you can use it other ways as well).
It works remarkably well and is really pretty reliable.
It isn't as fancy as the new breed of guides, but the tops are very clear and usable. The true value is for an occasional visitor to the area or for people like me (a regular) who have a load of definitive guides but like to mix it up. either way it is really useful.

This is quite dated in appearance compared to most other guide books, there are no photos of the routes, it's all black and white sketches (very old school).
It's OK for a quick overview of what's available in the Peak District but it's far from comprehensive and there's a lot of good routes and venues which aren't in there.
The dated feel is reflected in the photos of climbers in flourescent spandex climbing pants!
