As the name suggests, these pegs are ideal for hard ground when standard pegs would bend on impact.

Used them in some rock hard soil & they did the job. Stayed put in 'ex' hurricane Bertha winds. Need a peg puller to get them out sometimes but were well worthwile

Bought these because we had issues on campsite with hard ground, could not fault these pegs. Now going to change the original pegs for these ones
These are a 'must buy' for hard ground, 28 May 2013

I bought these to replace the bits of bent fence wire that claimed to be the pegs that came with my tent.
I've smashed these into the ground with a lump hammer when camping in areas where there are flints everywhere and haven't bent one yet after 2 years and 16 trips. They come out easy enough too, only needing one of the cheap-n-cheerful peg extractors when they're a bit tight.
I'd definitely recommend these to anyone. Five stars deffo!

These pegs are great.
Just returned from a short trip to the New Forest where the ground was full of compacted aggregate a couple of inches down. I am pretty sure that without these, the tent would not have gone up, or certainly not in any reasonable timeframe.
Pretty much every wire peg that came as standard with other kit bent, but these just cut through the hard material like it wasn't there.
Tip: Use a hammer not a mallet to put them in. All pegs pulled out fine with a cheap Hi-gear peg extractor.
A "must buy" bit of kit to shorten the time taken to erect a tent, and of course prevent lots of swearing at bent pegs and hard ground.

Unreal for less than ten bob each, they are now in my fishing stuff for the bivvy, can't find anything better
