GO Outdoors Customers Raise £10,000 for Mountain Rescue after Mammut Mini Mammoth Donation

GO Outdoors customers have raised £10,000 for Mountain Rescue after purchasing 2,000 mini mammoth cuddly toys.

The toys were donated by outdoor gear manufacturer Mammut and have been exclusively available from 44 GO Outdoors stores throughout the country since July 27th.

Ice Climbing Fall in Snowdonia, Caught on Camera

Terrifying POV video footage of a fall in Snowdonia. 

On February 24th Mark Roberts set out on a routine climb in Snowdonia, near Crib Goch with two friends. But a chunk of falling ice, soon changed the shape of their day when it knocked him into a 100ft slide down the side of the mountain. All of this was caught on camera with his helmet cam.

Penrith Mountain Rescue to Launch New Base Campaign at GO Outdoors GO OutdoorsStore Opening

Penrith, Saturday May 26th: Penrith Mountain Rescue Team (www.penrithmrt.org.uk) is officially launching its new campaign to raise funds for a new Cumbrian base.

Bosses at the new GO Outdoors store in Penrith have offered to host the voluntary search and rescue organisation’s first campaign event as part of their own store-opening celebrations.

In May 2011 two long-standing members of mountain rescue, Judy Whiteside and Gail Todd walked from Coast to Coast in aid of Mountain Rescue England and Wales (MREW)

Because Mountain Rescue are a self funded organization, they operate with no government funding what so ever, which means they have to fundraise all the money needed to operate themselves to operate the teams.Their aim was to raise £5000 for a benevolent fund; but they are still in need of funds to hit their target! Literally every penny will help someone who has been hurt volunteering to help someone in trouble- so we need GO Outdoors lovers to dig deep!
