What do you want to achieve in 2018?
You’ve probably heard of a bucket list, it’s the idea of creating a list of all the things you want to do before you ‘kick the bucket’, but it’s also a great way to keep track of your goals on a short-term basis as well. Here are a few reasons we think you should document all the things you want to achieve in 2018.
We count down the top 10 outdoor brands as voted by you.
When December rolls around we like to have a little retrospective on the year gone by where we celebrate all the great and good from the last 12 months. We do this by hosting our annual GO Outdoors Awards, during which we crown the prestigious ‘best brand of the year’. All votes are public and by GO colleagues so we can look at which brands you’ve really been supporting this year. Here we delve deeper into the vote and show you the complete top 10.
For a man that lives in the North Pole (or Lapland, depending on your story), Santa never seems to feel the cold. When he’s making his rounds on Christmas eve, he’ll be crossing through all manners of weather – so we’ve decided to offer the big man some advice to make the trip a little more comfortable. There are plenty of fundraising activities going on across office and stores in the buildup to Children in Need night, including a 923 mile stationary bike challenge at GO HQ.
Support your favourite Outdoor Bloggers with a vote in the GO Outdoors Awards
Here at GO Outdoors we love reading some of the things that UK-based bloggers have to say about their experiences in the British countryside and we know you do too. To celebrate the best of what these bloggers have to offer, we’re opening up the voting poll for the 2017 GO Outdoors Awards featuring the category of ‘Best Outdoor Blogger’ – and we want you to choose the winner.
GO Outdoors has shown its support to the UK Armed Forces by signing the Armed Forces Covenant.
Here at GO we work to ensure everyone, regardless of ability can access the equipment they need to enjoy the outdoors and we support the Armed Forces by offering additional discounts to current and former service personnel (an extra 10% off standard Discount Card prices*), while employees of the company can benefit from our Reservists Policy for those who serve as volunteers.
GO Outdoors & Ride Sheffield help bring Lady Canning’s MTB Trail to the Outdoor City
The outdoor scene in Sheffield is buzzing right now with a real focus on becoming the nations ‘Outdoor City‘, so when Ride Sheffield were looking to crowd fund some brand new mountain bike trails just outside the city where it all began for GO Outdoors, we just had to get involved.
The best time to grab your Christmas presents or a treat for yourself is here
Black Friday is here again, and while we’d always encourage you to climb mountains and not shelving, there are some fantastic bargains to be had , and lets face it – the more Christmas gifts you buy now, the less time you have to spend shopping in December.
We’ve hand picked some of our favourite Black Friday deals to share with you, but please remember that all Black Friday deals are strictly while stocks last.
Winning photo announced
This year we challenged you all to take in some of, all of or at least one of our 100 places around the UK to visit through the summer. You responded in your hundreds and so many of you managed to go to more than one place, it was fantastic to see. So lets’s get to the winner of the £500 in vouchers..
We asked over 1700 campers about their favourite hobby, and here’s what we found out:
Each year more and more families decide to take up camping, and now more than ever it’s a hobby that is accessible to anyone, from the hardened backpacker to those not quite willing to give up all their home comforts. Camping is what you make it, but what do people already camping think about it? Earlier this year we hosted a survey for campers to tell us a bit about their favourite pastime.
Which brand did you vote as the best in 2015? We’ve got the results
A couple of months ago as part of the GO Outdoors Awards 2015, we asked GO customers to vote for their favourite outdoor brand of 2015. While the outdoor industry does provoke fierce brand loyalty from many, we asked customers to consider which brand had really stepped up in 2015. Innovative new technology? Fantastic new products? There were plenty to choose from.

Love it or hate it, we may be in for some snow
Brrr… it’s chilly out there! A lot of us received a smattering of snow over Christmas, now temperatures are dropping, and the Met Office is predicting more of the white stuff is on its way. Great news for avid snowmen builders and sledging fanatics – but it’s also worth taking a few extra precautions to keep safe (and warm!) this winter.
Second Golden Pebble Found at Ferry Meadows
